Vintage Scrapping

Celebrate Gift Box

This was a creation on a day that my husband said "Take a break and go craft".  I sat in my room looking at stuff feeling overwhelmed and couldn't pick what pictures I wanted to use.  So I thought "well, Melissa, make something different" and this is what came out of it!

 

I used my cricut and the cartridge tags, bags, boxes and more to cut the box out of patterned paper.  Once I put the box together, I cut a panel out of scrap paper and adhered it to the box.  I had just gotten the irock tool and was anxious to use it so I glued some rhinestones on the corners.  The main label was punched with an ek sucess label punch on ginak luxury paper.  I glued it to a scrap piece of the patterned paper and carefully cut an outline.  The celebrate sentiment was an old $1 stamp I got at Michaels ages ao.  The Token is part of the Tim Holtz collection and I punched a hole and tied it on with some ribbon.   The ribbon flower was made using this ribbon rose tutorial that I love!  Lastly after all of this, I didn't have anything other than white tissue paper so I got out the Vintage Photo distressed ink and using the foam applicator dabbed some ink all over it and tada!

Halloween Treat Box

Ok so I had too much fun making this and now I am in full blown Halloween mode ready to make spooky treat bags and such for my son's teachers and kids in his class!

The template I used to make the "box" was a free download on Waltzingmousehouse.com she has some free downloads that are wonderful (not to mention I'm in love with her stamps!! Just have to get them in moderation or my husband might have a stroke :-0 )  I printed the template and cut it out.  Then I used the October 31st cartridge on my cricut and cut the tree and the pumpkin patch sign out of brown cardstock.  For the black box I used the PapertreyInk.com perfect black again (Another website I have to be careful with because I want to buy EVERYTHING!) 

  

The tree got a little messed up because I did multi cut and it was a little small but it seemed to work out just fine.  I used some Black Soot Distressed Ink by Tim Holtz to age the tree and the sign.  Then used a piece of orange cardstock to "light up" the words on the sign.

 

 

 

 

Now for the pumpkin, that did take a little more work.  I went straight to my ginakdesigns.com  GinaK pure luxury cardstock to stamp the pumpkin on using versamark and then sprinkled on black embossing powder and used my heat gun to emboss the pumkin.  After that I used my copic markers to color the pumkin.  BTW the stamp was a $1 stamp I picked up in a bin at Michaels.  Then I cut out the pumkin and glued to front of box.  The cutting out is what took so long, and I think next time I might just use a nestabilities circle to cut it out to save time.   Trick or Treat!!
